GameThread: DC United at Philadelphia Union

Over 1,000 United supporters have hit the road to accompany their beloved team to the hated city of Philadelphia.  If you're reading this, I'm guessing you didn't make the trip, but you have come to the right place to share your thoughts pre-game, in-game, and post-game.

Game time: 6:00pm EST

Television: Fox Soccer Channel

Projected Starting Lineup:

Perkins
Talley Jakovic Pena Wallace
Morsink
Barklage Castillo
Quaranta
Allsopp Pontius

Last minute thoughts:  After being shut out for two weeks in a row, look for United to change things up today.  Danny Allsopp will make his first MLS start and bring a more physical presence to the attack.  Meanwhile, Chris Pontius, who missed some practice during the week, remains in the starting lineup ahead of Jaime Moreno.

If you read our Scouting Report earlier this morning, then you know that PU will be trying to turn this match into more of a scrap than our team would prefer.  United can avoid that by playing smart, and should be able to keep the Union off the board if they avoid turnovers.

Over the past two weeks, you've seen me leave you here with one optimistic thought, and one pessimistic thought.  Neither have turned out too well for us.  So this time I'll just wish our boys luck, and leave you with a big VAMOS UNITED.
