As happens with these sorts of things, D.C. United's new home jersey has been leaked by the same people who leaked the new San Jose Earthquakes jersey. It looks remarkably similar to a mockup that commenter dekotora put together based on the teasers sent out by the D.C. United team store.
However, both before and after the leaked jersey was released, rumors have been pointing towards an additional announcement today. Also from commenter dekotora:
After a bit more thinking and hearing from littlenerrie (and my ticket rep), I'm thinking that there's something going on as far as a design on the upper chest, can't predict what it'll be, though. @DCUTeamStore has been dancing around showing that area pretty well.
And then there was this, from former D.C. United employee Kyle Sheldon:
By the way, #DCU followers.. I can confirm leaked jersey is not fully accurate. It’s missing a few details. pic.twitter.com/J0CHEnvdAi

I could be making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I think that something is happening here. A new kit sponsor would be a nice present to fans in the middle of the preseason. Our own Adam Taylor will be at the jersey release this afternoon, and we will have posts up on the site just as soon as the official release is out; by then, we will know if there is any fire to go with this smoke.
But in the meantime, what do you think of the (potential) jersey as is?
