Giving up on the team

No, I am not and will never give up on this team.

Those who are saying they will switch teams if we sign de Jong or make moves that they don't like... Really? I get it, I'm not a huge fan of the de Jong move too, but that doesn't mean I'm going to drop everything and start supporting... Who? Fredericksburg FC? I am a fan of supporting the more local, lower league clubs, so do that if you can. But seriously, would you support a team that you'd rarely (if ever) see live? Or would you actually start supporting Philadelphia or the Red Bulls?

Every team has its dark days. Has D.C. United gone through tough times longer than others? Yes. But every fanbase needs to be humbled. I mean we won the MLS Cup four times, including the three out of the first four years of the MLS' existence.

I understand if you don't renew season tickets. That's one of the best ways to say "I'm frustrated with this team, here's how I will show it." If you're sick of the team, don't watch them either. As a fan you have every right to show your frustration, refuse to watch, and refuse to spend money on the team. It is your job as a supporter to help the club succeed. But to say "I'm done supporting this team, I'm going to start supporting *insert team here*" Is a little far.

Stick to your team through thick and thin.
