DC United All-Decade Team: Starting Right Back

Bryan Namoff, photo courtesy Matt Mathai

No need for a lengthy introduction to this post.

I said prior to the previous poll that we have no automatic selections to the DC United All-Decade Team.  But I think there are a couple players who would be worthy of being selected automatically.  One has already been decided, another one should be quite obvious, and this is the third.

Your nominations for starting right back for the DC United All-Decade Team are:

Bryan Namoff (2001-2009), 195 matches, 4 goals, 16 assists
Carey Talley (2000-2001), 51 matches, 5 goals, 4 assists
John Wilson (2005-2006), 28 matches, 0 goals, 2 assists
Eric Denton (2000-2001), 27 matches, 1 goal, 3 assists
David Stokes (2004-2006), 24 matches, 0 goals, 1 assist

Check back tomorrow for the first position which should actually be a close competition: goalkeeper.

Namoff has meant a ton to this team

I didn’t even like him when he was drafted. They put him in the midfield at first since that is what he played at WF. But he grew on me as a guy that played hard, seemed very consistent and also really liked being here. These are things that I respect a great deal. plus, he has been a stalwart at RB. I am scerred to think of going into another season without him on the right (especially since he is making a decent salary these days).

I heartily endorse the above message.

"he got friends like Paco Pico Piedras..."
