MLS Week 4 one-liners
Philadelphia Union 1, Toronto FC 2
Thanks to Danny Califf and Chris Seitz, DC United no longer has any competition as the worst team in the league. Yes the Union continue to screw us over! But the worst part about it was that we had to suffer through seeing Dwayne De Rosario's stupid dance two times.
Kansas City Wizards 0, Seattle Sounders 1
It took over 270 minutes, but finally someone has scored on the Wizards. The main culprit of KC's loss? Seattle's refusal to make Qwest Field about 30 yards thinner so the Wizards would feel at home.
Chivas USA 0, Houston Dynamo 3
So I have a question. Why is it a yellow card if you spontaneously take off your shirt as part of a goal celebration, but it is not a yellow card when Dom Oduro takes off his shoe and tosses it around like a hot potato? That just seems odd to me. Anyway, this game wasn't even close.
Chicago Fire 2, DC United 0

FC Dallas 1, New York Red Bulls 2
Good team? Check. Beautiful weather? Check. Immaculate stadium? Check. Attendance? 13,000. Ugh. Dallas was the better team in this match. Their loss to the Red Bulls came from their unfortunate decision to give Angel a mulligan on his earlier PK miss.
New England Revolution 0, San Jose Earthquakes 2
Is this a fluke, or the Earthquakes actually worthy of their 2-1 start? Well if the MLSsoccer.com highlights are any indication, San Jose dominated this match right up until the point that they went up by two scores and the Revs started pushing harder. No, I don't think its a fluke, but having possibly the best goalkeeper in the league sure doesn't hurt.
Real Salt Lake 1, LA Galaxy 2
The Edson Buddle shows continues out west with his record setting 7 straight goals. Heaven forbid if he has to miss a match, say maybe during a little trip to South Africa this summer? On the bright side for RSL, Kyle Beckerman became the first to score on LA this year. But that's little consolation as they now sit in 6th place in the Western Conference standings.
Toronto FC 1, Colorado Rapids 3
The Rapids went into this one with the plan of dominating the scoreline while only scoring goals only from free kicks and penalty kicks. Luckily for them, the referee and Juan De Guzman decided to go along with it. Maybe it was also part of their plan to make sure that they don't have too many fans in the stadium to distract them.

I’m sure that the NYRB stadium will start filling when people notice the wins. They have to, yeah? I mean, they’re getting them in DCU to watch crap product, and that can’t last forever.
They're coming.

I imagine that the TFC players in that picture are hoping that, if they touch De Rosario, it might help them become competent professional soccer players. If it wasn’t for him, they’d be even worse than us (both in the standings and in actual overall quality).

Sorry Guys
I simply say this, until you get a win, you guys are the worst in the league. It pains me as I thought you were much better but failure to close out matches, but didn’t the Union beat you?
Sorry guys, maybe if you beat New York and KC that first week of May you can get out of the cellar but at least Philly are scoring goals, your minus 9 goal differential says a lot.

No one will be arguing with you from our end. I do think TFC would be worse if they didn’t have De Rosario (or if we had a DeRo clone of our own), but they have him and we don’t. There’s no arguing with things like conceding 3 goals to Philly, being -9, and being unable to score in either home game, both against middling opponents.
At the moment, we are flat-out awful. I’m glad we don’t play RSL for a long time, because right now it would be a disaster.

No argument from me either. Trash talking is much more fun when both teams have some positive qualities to go along with their negative qualities. Right now we don’t.

Just wait
I fully expect an implosion by TFC, they have talent but I think one play against Colorado spoke about their heart. When a guy dives out of the wall and the ball goes right where he was on its way to the back of the net, you have to wonder.
I also think Philly is going to end up being a typical expansion team, not RSL or Chivas expansion bad, but TFC expansion bad. They won at home on their opening match, they will get a boost when their actual stadium opens but it is going to take some time for that group to gel.
