My favorite part of the article is that the Sounders fans were hiding their faces with their ugly green scarves. And then the police couldn't identify the suspects because there were too many other lemmings wearing the same damn thing!

Stay classy Seattle.

Let's not forget that they threw a bottle at Josh Wicks

The Sounders and their fans are just plain unlikable.

Not true

There are a few bad apples, and well throwing stuff a Wicks should be a requirement of all fans. I ran into nothing but great people when a group of us headed to Seattle for RSL’s 2009 opener, we walked around their town for two days in our full RSL gear and the people were great. We went into their bars and drank with them and had a great time, a few bad apples at the match but the vast, vast majority were great.

It was the same thing when we were up there for MLS Cup, every team has a few rotten apples that show up, drink more than they can handle and do stupid things. Hell it even happens here in Salt Lake City.

Lemmings?

Seriously, because we actually get fans to show up for a pre-season match on a team that won a Cup in year one that makes us “lemmings?”

As for the idiots that had a police report filed against them. Get them caught, and charge the bastards. This city has no need for them.

Yeah, we won an Open Cup our first year too

Oh, and a whaddyacallit…. MLS Cup.

I just feel that this won’t be the only instance of choking in Seattle this season.

Sure, they blew a 3-1 lead against DC

The club choked a few times last year, most notably was the home match v DC

Rec'd

Love the “choking in Seattle” line.

Seattle = Philly West?

by DonCaps819 on Mar 21, 2025 11:33 AM EDT reply actions

Only when it comes to playing Portland. Seattle may have rubbed us the wrong way (to put it mildly), but they really only get out of control when it comes to the Timbers. Similarly, I was once told by a Timbers fan that the Timbers are the only evidence that North America can support a European-style soccer culture. It must just be something in the water in the Pacific Northwest.

Your Portland fan

didn’t say European Style soccer culture. He said “3rd tier soccer”
