Let’s all remember the last time Wayne Rooney did something crazy in a win over Orlando, shall we?
And I know that context bears some consideration; D.C. was hanging on by their thumbs for their 2018 season in mid-August, Rooney floats a ball in that was the definition of Hail Mary, and the five foot three Luciano Acosta heads it(!) in the net for his third on the night. It’s a helluva lot different than the 4th game of the year at the end of March.
There’s been some recurring things early in D.C. United’s season, what with Lucas Rodriguez echoing the ghosts of Marcelo Gallardo with wins over Real Salt Lake to the point that we opened the floor up for which was better. And this is slightly different in that Wayne Rooney was involved in both events here, so I guess it’s only fair to ask:
