I've always liked the cut of his jib, but Chest's ringing endorsement has me sold. We need Dillon Powers.
Either him, or someone like Diego from Brazil who now lives and plays in Fenerbache, I believe. Someone who's not that fast, but who has excellent feet and passing ability.
Ironically, as I've stated before, Olsen used to BE this player for us. Hard nosed, tough, but with a great offensive toolbox.
In short, we need to make a bad trade. Draft picks, what have you. Sometimes, to get what you need, you have to overpay.
What can we do about it? I'd say organize a massive Tifo inviting Powers into the fold, showing him DC fans would welcome him with open arms. That might persuade him to give up the dreams of Italy, and stick it out with the best team in the East.
But we have to put our money where our mouth is. I'm personally very poor, but I'd be willing to contribute something to the effort.
So, Tifo and other welcoming actions geared towards Powers at the next home game. Who's with me?
