$8 million offer for Andy Najar could be coming from Anderlecht

Greg Seltzer, who has some of the best connections in the business, has heard rumors that an $8 million offer for Andy Najar is coming.

News reports out of Honduras, especially when related to D.C. United players or prospects, always have to be taken with a grain of salt. So when a report came out of Honduras today that said that Anderlecht would be offering 6 million euros, around $8 million, I took it as a rumor in the wind.

But now Greg Seltzer, who has one of the best network of sources in the business, is reporting that he has heard the same, that Anderlecht will be putting an offer on the table for Najar for approximately $8 million. He says that he cannot currently confirm it, but if Seltzer is willing to put it on his website he must have a solid lead. And while the loss of Najar would be a heavy blow for United in the upcoming season, I think it is simply too much money to pass up. A ridiculous amount of money, in fact.

Najar was not in the 18 for Anderlecht's Belgian Cup match against Gent today, which Anderlecht won by a score of 1-0; their next match is this Sunday against SVZW. I do not think there is anything to read into that fact, but let us know in the comments if you do. While there, feel free to let us know your thoughts on that rumored price, if you would take it, and if you think that the SuperDraft pick will tell us anything about Najar's future.
