GameThread: Seattle Sounders At D.C. United
With two home matches this week against talented Western Conference opponents, earning four points or more is vital, and its doable. It starts tonight with a visit from the hated Seattle Sounders, a team which DC United defeated on the road just over a month ago in the last match on the planet before the start of the World Cup. Earning the same result tonight would be a huge step in United's bid to remain in playoff contention.
Game Time: 8:00 PM
Television: ESPN2, ESPN3.com, ESPN-Deportes
Projected Starting Lineup: Our draw with the New York Red Bulls just five days ago featured maybe United's best defensive effort of the season. Defenders Devon McTavish, Dejan Jakovic, Julius James, and Jordan Graye all performed admirably well, and will be expected to do the same against a good attacking team tonight.
This match is likely to feature the introduction of both newly signed players Branko Boskovic and Pablo Hernandez. We expect Hernandez to start up top with Santino Quaranta, and Boskovic to come off the bench, since the midfielder hasn't played a competitive match in several months.
If you're going to the match, sing loud and be proud. If not, this is your place for pre-game, in-game, and post-game thoughts.

Pathetic Performance
How many corner kicks did Seattle have—15? Noonan absolutely dominated whoever he played against tonight. Hernandez should start; our DP showed some flashes of coolness, but he needs to adjust to the physicality of MLS—and get in game shape.

Hernandez took a number of spills
Prus wouldn’t give him any calls, and looked at him directly after a few of them. It seemed like he knew this was his league debut and that he shouldn’t be expecting much in the way of calls, particularly from flopping. And then he went and awarded Seattle free kicks after their players were similarly taken down. There was one moment in particular when Hernandez seemed to be dragged down in the box. It didn’t look like he went down cheaply, but no call.

Man, I missed the game tonight because I had to do stuff at work. I’m sort of glad I missed it.
