Bill Hamid named to the USMNT’s 2017 Gold Cup roster

The Black-and-Red faithful have a rooting interest from the club.

Bruce Arena announced the United States roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Golf Cup tournament Sunday and Bill Hamid made the final roster for the tournament, with training camp beginning on Monday. For D.C. United, this means they’ll be without the services of Hamid starting with Wednesday’s Round of 16 U.S. Open Cup match with the New England Revolution.

Travis Worra and Eric Klenofsky (who is back in training after a meniscus injury) would be United’s goalkeepers for that one, and in road matches against the Montreal Impact July 1 and FC Dallas on July 4. The US will, at the very least, be occupied until July 15 with group stage matches. However, a run to the final - essentially the minimum standard for the United States at any Gold Cup - would see Hamid occupied for United’s trip to face the Seattle Sounders on July 19 and at home against the Houston Dynamo on July 22.

Should D.C. win on Wednesday, you can add a July 11 quarterfinal match at the Soccerplex against the winner of the Philadelphia Union-New York Red Bulls match to this list.

The rest of the roster is:

GOALKEEPERS (6): Brad Guzan (Atlanta United FC), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Sean Johnson (New York City FC)

DEFENDERS (12): Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca/MEX), Matt Hedges (FC Dallas), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest/ENG), Matt Miazga (Chelsea/ENG), Justin Morrow (Toronto FC/CAN), Jorge Villafaña (Santos Laguna/MEX), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

MIDFIELDERS (15): Paul Arriola (Club Tijuana/MEX), Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana/MEX), Dax McCarty (Chicago Fire), Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders FC), Kelyn Rowe (New England Revolution), Kenny Saief (Gent/BEL), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

FORWARDS (7): Juan Agudelo (New England Revolution), Dom Dwyer (Sporting Kansas City), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC)
