Bill Hamid ended up in third place for the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year race, with Luis Robles winning top honors and David Ousted coming in second. The voting was conducted by three groups and then weighted: club management, MLS players, and members of the media. Hamid actually was first in the votes of club management, but Robles took the players and the members of the media by enough of a margin to secure first place.
When he was on the field, I think Bill Hamid was the best goalkeeper in MLS this year, but the problem was that he got hurt a couple of different times this season. The fact that Robles won over Ousted (or a couple of other keepers), is somewhat ridiculous, however. Robles is a good MLS keeper, but putting him ahead of Hamid, Ousted, Stefan Frei, or Nick Rimando is silly.
Congratulations to Bill on some recognition and on another great season overall!
