D.C. United officially signs Sebastien Le Toux

The veteran Frenchman has a new home

As we broke over the weekeend, D.C. United have officially announced tonight that they hve signed free agent attacker Sebastien Le Toux to a one year contract. Le Toux is the second free agent signed by United this offseason, with Sean Franklin deciding to return to the team. Prior to United, Le Toux has played with the Colorado Rapids, the Philadelphia Union, the New York Red Bulls, and the Seattle Sounders in MLS.

Dave Kasper, D.C. United General Manager, had this to say about the team’s newest acquisition:

Sébastien has proven over eight MLS seasons that he is a valuable asset to teams in this league. His tremendous work rate, ability to score and create goals along with his experience make him a great acquisition for the club.”

Le Toux will join a crowded attacking corps that already includes Lloyd Sam, Patrick Nyarko, and Lamar Neagle, plus forwards Patrick Mullins, Jose Ortiz, and Alhaji Kamara, if Ben Olsen choses to deploy Le Toux up top; in the press release, Le Toux was described as a forward.

Welcome, Sebastien!
