D.C. United, along with the rest of MLS, announced the date for their 2017 season opener. The Black-and-Red will host Sporting Kansas City at RFK Stadium (note that the club is making a point to mention that it’s the final opener at RFK) on March 4th, followed by a trip up to the Bronx to face NYCFC at Yankee Stadium March 12th.
Final Home Opener at RFK!

- United at @NYCFC | March 12, 2pm ET#DCU: https://t.co/V2A1ZOrbgJ
The Black-and-Red’s record against Sporting Kansas City at RFK is a fairly good one with 13 wins and 7 draws in 26 games, including a current 4 game unbeaten (3 draws) streak, as they play the Sporks on a March Saturday night at 7pm. Moving along to Yankee Stadium, D.C.’s record against New York City FC is a little less than ideal, losing both games to the Pigeons while giving up 3 goals in each game.
The rest of the schedule will be released at a later date, but for comparison’s sake, the 2016 schedule was released in the first week of January. With the schedule trickling out, and preseason starting soon (players report in approximately one month from today), things will ramp up again shortly.
