MLS Power Rankings, Week 16: Back to business

MLS returns to action in this week's Power Rankings.

Welcome back, MLS! After a two week break for the Copa America Centenario group stages, coupled with the U.S. Open Cup and Canadian Championship, MLS teams were a bit hungover from the break in action, and for some of them it showed. Some teams were the same team that we left a couple weeks ago on vacation, while some are still showing their class among the rest of the league.

Now, we’ve reached the busy time of the calendar. We’re in the 2nd half of the season, Open Cup matches will come every couple weeks, and many teams have some midweek matches coming up, all in the heat of summer. Can teams handle the pressure? Can they get back into the swing of things? Also, the second transfer window is about to open, so only time will tell whether some teams look to either send talent abroad or bring in some international talent.

The Colorado Rapids remain at the top spot, while the Chicago Fire will keep their spot at the bottom. Your beloved D.C. United moves up a spot to 16th after the draw last weekend against Houston. But, now let's hear from you. Who in your mind is poised to be hot over the next few weeks? Who's not coming out quick on the restart? The comments are open for your thoughts!
