Word from Peruvian outlet Depor, midfielder Hernan Hinostroza (colorfully nicknamed "Churrito") will be coming to Washington to trial with D.C. United for 10 days, according to his agent. The former product of Alianza Lima reserve system played in Belgium with S.V. Zulte Waregem before returning to Peru to play with Universidad de San Martin, but now is out of contract.
The 21-year old is a midfielder, playing centrally and with some time on the right side. He has also spent time on the Peru U-20 squad and saw his first senior team cap last July in a friendly against Panama.
This is not the first time this year that D.C. United has brought in a young Peruvian player to train, and they have brought in international players on extended periods of time before ultimately not signing either. And with D.C. having (we think) only two international roster spots, Churrito will have to dazzle and then some before consideration is given.
Oh hey, there's a sizzle reel too!
