D.C. United Transfer News and Rumors: Alexander Robinson Says CBA Resolution Holding Up Signing

He speaks!

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

We know that former Saprissa and current D.C. United player Jairo Arrieta traveled to Costa Rica as part of the CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal match for D.C. against Alajuelense. As it turns out, Joel Condor Florida Man Alexander Robinson traveled with the team as well, making sure our "former Saprissa player in town against Saprissa's archrival" quota is bursting at the seams.

Like Arrieta, Robinson answered questions from the Costa Rican press at the airport as well, but went on to hint that collective bargaining talks are hindering making his arrival official (though saying he does have the support of soon to be Coach Ben Olsen and General Manager Dave Kasper).

Obviously, bringing along Robinson, who spent virtually all of his six-year career at Saprissa is a no-brainer, as far as giving him the chance to not only get some experience on how some of MLS play works, but also is a chance to get D.C. the chance to gather some intel on their opponent for the next two games. Also, Saprissa plays host to Club America in one of the other quarterfinal legs on Wednesday and is not far from the team hotel, so maybe a field trip is in order for Robinson and Arrieta before the real fun Thursday.
