D.C. United versus LA Galaxy lineup: Give Jalen a shot!

At this point, he deserves it

Tonght, D.C. United will travel to Los Angeles and face the LA Galaxy in the next edition of #DCUAfterDark. It is their last game before the opening of Audi Field and the last game before the debut of Wayne Rooney. After another frustrating game in New England, the team will look to comes home with a win in their pocket and three points off of their old rivals.

After their respective performances against New England, I think that Jalen Robinson deserves a start at center back over Frederic Brillant. That hinges on Joseph Mora being healthy, but it looks like Mora traveled with the team to Los Angeles, so that is at least a possibility. It will likely be overlooked when the team signs TAM level players on the back line, but Robinson has been due for a start since the summer began, because things just weren’t working back there.

Paul Arriola traveled with the team to New England and is now listed as probable, so I think he makes his return to the lineup over Ian Harkes. With a 10 day rest coming up before the launch of Audi Field, Yamil Asad and Zoltan Stieber will start on the wings, and Luciano Acosta will be in the middle. Darren Mattocks continues to demand minutes, and I don’t think that even the debut of Wayne Rooney will change that.

This is the last lineup before some massive changes come, with basically everyone playing for their starting roles, especially with the team pursuing outside back help as well (according to Steve Goff). This is the last spotlight someone will get to make, so it will be interesting to see who steps up.
