Washington Spirit owner in talks about selling majority share of NWSL club - The Washington Post: Steve Goff reports that Bill Lynch, the current owner of the Washington Spirit, is looking to bring in a new majority owner while he retains a substantial stake in the club; he even has a fellow tech executive in mind. DC United has talked to the Washington Spirit and expressed some level of interest, per #NWSL source. Some owners hadn't known about Bill Lynch's talks with this local businessman and were unhappy to find out via Washington Post article, I'm told.

Apparently the area’s men’s soccer team had also expressed interest in buying the Spirit, and were nonplussed to find out about another suitor via the press.

United States Canada Mexico could form combined league after 2026 World Cup - ESPN: Yeah, sure, okey. There is no way that there would be established league play across the entirety of North America. The United States is already huge, and adding the world’s 14th largest country to the world’s second and third largest countries is just bonkers. An expanded Superliga, however, where perhaps the top two MLS teams skip our playoffs and faceoff against the top two Mexican teams? That could happen.
