The DGW comes good.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Our overall leader also led the round, as !BL4CKnRED-2014Champ took advantage of the double game weeks to score 129 points. David Villa (NYC, $11.4) wore the armband and scored 42 points on two goals. Lee Nguyen (NE, $11.2) tallied two assists and 17 points, while Diego Valeri (POR, $10.5) scored a goal and added an assist of his own for 13 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

NYCFC's Josh Saunders ($5.1) led all goalkeepers with 11 points with a saved penalty. Stefan Frei (SEA, $6.2) earned a clean sheet and 9 points, while the pair of Evan Bush (MTL, $5.5) and Luis Robles (NYR, $5.9) scored 8 points, with Robles posting a clean sheet. For DCU, Travis Worra ($4.0) earned 3 points.

Defenders

Two defenders led the way with 13 points. RJ Allen (NYC, $5.2) scored a goal and posted a clean sheet, while Matt Besler (SKC, $8.8) posted an assist. Sal Zizzo (NYR, $6.4) tallied a clean sheet and an assist for 12 points. D.C.'s defense was led by Bobby Boswell ($8.1) and Sean Franklin ($8.0) with 4 points, Taylor Kemp ($7.7) with 3, and Steve Birnbaum ($7.6) with 1.

Midfielders

Lee Nguyen's 17 points led the position. Four players scored 14 points -- Tommy McNamara (NYC, $7.3), Felipe Martins (NYR, $8.5), Sacha Kljestan (NYR, $11.5), and Christian Bolaños (VAN, $7.9). McNamara tallied two assists, Kljestan and Felipe each scored a goal and earned an assist, and Bolaños scored two goals. United's midfield featured Patrick Nyarko ($7.1) with 9 points; Lamar Neagle ($7.7) with 6; Jared Jeffrey ($5.5) with 4; and each of Julian Büscher ($5.5), Chris Rolfe ($8.7), and Rob Vincent ($6.0) with 1.

Forwards

David Villa's 21 points led the forwards and led all players. Didier Drogba (MTL, $11.6) posted a goal and an assist for 16 points, and Fanendo Adi (POR, $10.3) posted a goal and an assist of his own for 13 points. Luciano Acosta ($8.9) led DCU's forwards with 9 points, and Alvaro Saborio ($7.7) had 2.

Looking Ahead

Chicago and Philadelphia are on bye, and everyone else plays once. Games start on Friday night. Keep an eye on next week, when we have another bundle of teams with two-game weeks. I like Evan Busch in goal at Columbus, and Drew Moor (TOR, $7.2) in defense at home vs. Dallas. Ignacio Piatti (MTL, $10.4) is your midfield man at Columbus, and Giovani dos Santos (LA, $11.2) is really hot right now, so play him at forward at home against New England.
