Fantasy Focus: That LA LA LA

Galaxy here, Galaxy there, Galaxy everywhere

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Galaxy players led at every position this round, and otherwise were dominating the leaderboard. Before we get to that, we recognize both the round leader and overall leader, In It Toux Wynne It, who scored 161 points. Landon Donovan (LA, $11.4) wore the armband and scored 50 points, with two goals and an assist over two matches. Adding to the deluge were the duo of Obafemi Martins (SEA, $9.4), and Donovan's teammate, Robbie Keane ($11.8), each of whom scored 21 points -- Martins with two goals and two assists in two games, and Keane with a goal and three assists in two games.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

Jaime Penedo (LA, $5.8) earned one clean sheet in two matches for 12 points and the goalkeeper lead. Second was DCU's Bill Hamid ($5.2) with a clean sheet and 9 points, while both Steve Clark (CLB, $5.3) and Bobby Shuttleworth (NE, $4.7) earned clean sheets and 8 points.

Defenders

LA's Omar Gonzalez ($9.9) earned 19 points with a goal, assist, and a clean sheet in two games. Three defenders tied for 2nd with 10 points -- Waylon Francis (CLB, $6.5), Leonardo (LA, $7.2), and Dan Gargan (LA, $7.2) -- each had a clean sheet, and Francis and Gargan had an assist. For United, Steve Birnbaum ($5.0) led the way with 9 points, Bobby Boswell ($8.8) had 8, Sean Franklin ($7.3) had 7, and Taylor Kemp ($4.7) had 6.

Midfielders

Donovan's 25 points led all midfielders and all scorers. Sebastien Le Toux (PHI, $8.2) trailed him with 17 points in two games on a goal and three assists, while LA's Marcelo Sarvas ($7.5) notched a goal and an assist for 14 points. Chris Rolfe ($7.3) led D.C. with 12 points, Perry Kitchen ($6.4) and Luis Silva ($6.9) had 10 points, Davy Arnaud ($6.3) had 4, Nick DeLeon ($6.8) had 3, and Alex Caskey ($5.7) had 1.

Forwards

Keane and Martins tied for first among forwards with 21 points, and Thierry Henry (NY, $10.7) scored two goals and added an assist for 20 points. DCU were led by Fabian Espindola ($8.6) with 9 points, and David Estrada ($5.8) had 1 point.

Looking Ahead

Philadelphia's on bye, LA and DCU play twice, and everyone else plays once. If you don't have at least two of Donovan, Keane, Espindola, Gargan, Rolfe, and Gyassi Zardes (LA, $7.8), what are you waiting for? Otherwise, look at Steve Clark in the goal @ MTL and Jair Benitez (DAL, $5.9) in defense @ CHI. Get Pedro Morales (VAN, $8.7) in the midfield vs. POR, and back Tesho Akindele (DAL, $5.1) to PUT IT IN YOUR GOAL @ CHI.
