The Washington Spirit added Baltimore Armour as a partner for their Maryland program in the U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy. Baltimore Armour joins Montgomery Soccer Incorporated (MSI) as the Spirit’s partner clubs in Maryland. The Spirit’s Maryland Development Academy program will now be named “Washington Spirit Baltimore Armour.” Baltimore Armour is a partnership between Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC) and Pipeline Soccer Club.
The first-ever Girls Development Academy season is set to begin this fall. The Spirit will field a Virginia-based program in addition to the Maryland side.
"When we began the process of creating a U.S. Soccer Development Academy, this Spirit Baltimore Armour partnership was our optimal vision to add to MSI. The commitment this partnership represents will provide a platform to develop world class players and coaches here in Maryland,” said Washington Spirit head coach and Academy technical director Jim Gabarra.
Washington Spirit Baltimore Armour will be managed by Denise Reddy, the Spirit’s assistant coach, and will field teams spanning birth years 1999-2005.
