MLS: San Jose Earthquakes at D.C. United Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Hi. That was fun, wasn’t it?

Recaps of D.C. United’s 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes by us (with more from us here), WaPo and MLS. Center Line Soccer has the NorCal take.

Lampard weighs in: "Class" performance from Mullins (MLS): Former Manchester City, West Ham United and Chelsea player Frank Lampard pays tribute to former New York City FC teammate Patrick Mullins.

D.C. United sits Bill Hamid as European clubs circle (Goal): Ives’ article mentions Eintracht Frankfurt, though I’m going to guess the details here were things Bill or folks close to him put out there (and the team has their side here apparently). I feel like the argument about poor treatment of Bilal is a touch disingenuous; after all, Bill’s gotten played when other Euro teams have sniffed around him, and he’s even trained abroad with clubs in the offseason before, but I’m just a dumb blogger.

Spirit fall 3-0 in bottom of the table matchup (us): The Washington Spirit lose to the Boston Breakers and oh my god can this season be over already?

When phenoms take flight: What should we expect from Mallory Pugh in the NWSL? (Four Four Two): Our personal fave Richard Farley explores what MalPugh can and/or should accomplish.

Worra Earns Assist in 1-0 Kickers Win (us): Down a level, Travis Worra helped the Richmond Kickers directly

#Catherinesfight: ‘She is the bravest human being I’ve ever met’ (CBS6): The Richmond Kickers are also experiencing a run of bads, but they’re also doing things to put them on a higher karmic level. Set aside some time and a tissue or two.

USA 2018 World Cup kit designs leaked? (Stars and Stripes FC): The United States has to get there of course, but I think if close to accurate these...aren’t bad?

'They could hardly string two passes together' (WalesOnline): In partner club news, Swansea City gave up a late goal to Troy Deeney and thus, Watford defeated them at home 2-1. Swans are in 14th with West Ham on the horizon.

Inter show up late to defeat Genoa (Serpents of Madonnina): In more partner club news, Inter Milan got a late goal from Danilo D’Ambrosio to beat Genoa 1-0. Inter is unbeaten in their first 6 (winning 5), and are waiting for Napoli and Juventus to drop points this year while camping out in third.

I don’t have a good note to end on other than the trailer for Wes Anderson’s new movie:
