With preseason underway, here's a look at the trialists who will be fighting for a spot. The most experienced player in the group is Maxim Tissot,  while former University of Maryland and D.C. United Academy defender Suliaman Dainkeh is also in the mix.

NWSL announces list of Canadian subsidized players for 2017 season- Excelle Sports
NWSL and Canada Soccer released its list of 2017 allocated NWSL players. Canadian internationals Steph Labbe and Shelina Zadorsky are returning to the Spirit. This is good news for the Spirit since each of their returns wasn't certain and the Spirit lack depth at both positions.

Sky Blue FC’s Kailen Sheridan allocated as Canadian subsidized player - Once a Metro
Canada also added some new players to their allocated pool, including former Clemson goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan.
