Happy Martin Luther King Day! Hopefully you're enjoying the day off to reflect on the great man, his life, and his lasting legacy. You know, the title of our daily links post just sounds more appropriate on MLK Day--Freedom Kicks indeed!
It's much less momentous than today's holiday, but this is the week some MLS teams will kickoff their 2014 preseason camps as well. Perhaps that's true for D.C. United too, but I've yet to see a definitive date for when the team will begin training in the DMV before heading to Bradenton, Florida, from Jan. 29 - Feb. 13. If you've got the specifics on when D.C. United gets going, please let us know in the comments section below.
While we work on those details, here's your roundup of soccer links for this morning.
Michael Seaton: "Amazing to be a part of all of this" | D.C. United
Terrific interview from the Inter website (translated and republished on dcunited.com) on Michael Seaton. Sounds like the partnership with Inter is paying off for this homegrown striker. And, check out the pics of his training (he looks pretty comfortable).

This article has quotes from Klinsmann about several topics, including comparing the "Brazilian style of life" to the "German way" and how that will affect logistics at the World Cup.
American Mark Geiger to referee at World Cup - ESPN FC
This is good news for US Soccer and MLS. I thought Geiger had a strong 2014, and his international profile is rising as well. Fun fact: did you know he is also a high school math teacher?
U.S. Soccer announces Class of 2014 Hall of Fame ballot | US Soccer Players
US Soccer announced the ballot for the Players and Veterans categories for the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2014. A number of former D.C. United players are on the list.
Camilo saga is over: Vancouver Whitecaps transfer striker to Liga MX's Queretaro for "record" sum | MLSsoccer.com
Contract notwithstanding, it appears a player can leave MLS for another league if he really, really, really wants to go.
MLS, Vancouver Whitecaps confirm arrangement with New York Cosmos over draftee Andre Lewis | MLSsoccer.com
More news from Vancouver, this time involving the New York Cosmos. What's the Cosmos' long-term future? Where do they fit into American soccer without promotion and relegation coming to these shores?
ASN article: Juan Agudelo Finally Finds A Home at FC Utrecht
So long, Juan. Best wishes in Europe.
BBC report: Blackburn’s Bradley Orr bound for Toronto FC | ProSoccerTalk
The rich get richer. While certainly not on the same level as Bradley and Defoe, this isn't a shabby addition for Toronto.
