North Carolina Courage vs. Washington Spirit 2019: Time, TV schedule and how to watch NWSL online

Yesterday’s postponement doesn’t make the Spirit’s task any easier

After lightning and a powerful thunderstorm forced a postponement, the Washington Spirit and North Carolina Courage will give it another shot tonight. Results elsewhere in the NWSL saw the Spirit fall out of the final playoff spot last night, upping the ante for this game (provided the weather gods don’t interfere again). The same stuff we said yesterday still applies, but we wanted to make sure you have updated information about today’s game.

If anything changes, we’ll update this post.

Location: Sahlen’s Stadium (Cary, NC)

Kickoff time: 4:00pm Eastern

Projected Spirit starting 11: Let’s just assume last night’s lineup is going to be tonight’s lineup:

Rose Lavelle and Mallory Pugh are with the USWNT (who play later tonight), while Tegan McGrady and Mallory Eubanks remain out.

Projected North Carolina starting 11: Here’s the team Paul Riley was planning on starting last night:

They’re missing USWNT quartet Abby Dahlkemper, Crystal Dunn, Jess McDonald, and Samantha Mewis, and on top of that they didn’t have Lynn Williams (tied for 3rd on the NWSL goalscoring charts, and tied for 1st on the assist table) in uniform either.

Referee: Gustavo Solorio

Available TV: Currently, it looks like there won’t be any. NBC Sports Washington is listing a World Team Tennis match that was already scheduled, and NBCSW Plus has nothing listed. Feels safe to recommend checking on it as the day goes on, but I wouldn’t make plans that hinge on the game being on TV.

Available streaming: Monumental Sports Network, Yahoo (domestic), NWSLsoccer.com (international). That Yahoo link should take you right to the correct page.

What are you drinking?: I could not stay asleep last night, so I might be looking at some iced coffee to push me through this one.
