Crystal Dunn Wins NWSL MVP

The Washington Spirit sophomore gets a richly deserved Season award.

Per the NWSL website, Washington Spirit forward Crystal Dunn has been voted Most Valuable Player for the 2015 season. In her second year in the League with the Spirit, she pretty much refuted any proverbial sophomore jinx. Her list of accomplishments?

  • Won the Golden Boot with 15 goals (one behind the League record for a season)
  • Earned 6 Player of the Week awards (a League record for a season) and the Player of the Month for August.
  • Opened her account with the United States Women's National team, assisting on two goals from Carli Lloyd and scoring one of her own.
  • Got All the Way Turnt Up.

In all seriousness, congrats to Crystal and to the Spirit for the year, and here's hoping that 2016 fully kicks 2015 right in the butt not only at the club level but, with the Olympics going off in Rio next year, the country part gets just as turnt.
