Coming off of a disappointing performance and result last week, the USWNT is looking to get back on track in today’s friendly against Spain. The United States dropped a 3-1 loss to France on Friday, looking distinctly second-best throughout, and Spain — themselves a 2019 World Cup qualifier and looking to prove they belong at the top tier of women’s soccer — will be hungry to spring what would count as a huge upset.
Location: Estadio Jose Rico Perez (Alicante, Spain)
Kickoff time: 2:30pm Eastern

No word yet on the bench, but Jill Ellis is going back to the group that we have largely been assuming is her first-choice eleven for months. The only missing player is Kelley O’Hara, while Julie Ertz, Rose Lavelle, Tobin Heath, and Megan Rapinoe step in from the loss to France.
For our purposes, the Washington Spirit maintain one starter. Mallory Pugh, who scored the U.S. goal last week, rotates out while Lavelle comes in. Andi Sullivan made the bench against France, and may well be there again (that information was not available when this was written).
