D.C. United and FC Dallas to face Jönköpings Södra IF during the preseason

D.C. United and FC Dallas will be together in two states during the preseason: Florida and Texas.

A report out of Sweden's Jönköpings-Posten has clarified D.C. United's preseason schedule a little further. Before traveling to Austin for the ATX Pro Challenge, D.C. United will apparently travel to Florida as a part of their training camp. While there, both D.C. United and FC Dallas will take on Jönköpings Södra IF, who finished in fourth place in the Superettan last season, which is Sweden's second tier. J-Södra will take on D.C. United on February 4 before taking on FC Dallas on February 6. It is currently unclear whether or not United and FC Dallas will play each other in Florida, as they will be playing each other a week or so later in Austin, but it is probably likely.

D.C. United fans are no strangers to playing Swedish teams in the preseason, with the team having faced Malmo FF twice in the past few seasons. Scandinavian teams are easy to schedule due to the fact that their season aligns with the MLS calendar. After their time in Florida, United will then travel to Austin, where they will face the Austin Aztex, Columbus Crew SC, and FC Dallas in the ATX Pro Challenge. That tournament will run from February 13 through February 15 and will serve as one of D.C. United's final tuneups before facing L.D. Alajuelense on February 26.
