No D.C. United match this weekend, which means this is our only open thread until the Black-and-Red play on Wednesday. Use it well.

As usual, most of this weekend's MLS match-ups will be available to fans in the D.C. area only through pay services like MLS Live and MLS Direct Kick, but there are some games available on national teevee, too. Well, two of them, one each on Saturday and Sunday. So enjoy Arlo White while you still can on NBC Sports Network as the Columbus Crew host the New York Red Bulls this afternoon, and then tune into ESPN2 late, late tomorrow night for the tilt between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Houston Dynamo.

In the meantime, let's get the conversation started with an open question: With Arlo White officially on his way back to the United Kingdom this summer to take over Premier League duties for NBC, who would you like to see replace him at the MLS mic? Have it out, and let us know what you think of the goings on around MLS (and the rest of the soccer world) down in the comments.

This is your open thread.

In his first professional start, Michael Seaton goes 90 minutes and scores his first goal.

The Richmond Kickers were able to take a 2-0 victory out of Wilmington over the Hammerheads before returning home to Richmond for the rest of the month. Each of the halves played out the same way: the Hammerheads started strong, controlling the run of play before the Kickers took control after 15 or 20 minutes. While the Kickers were not able to convert that control into a goal in the first half, an obvious penalty kick in the second changed their fortunes. Luke Vercollone was able to slot it home to give the Kickers a 1-0 lead.

The most notable performance for D.C. United fans was that of Michael Seaton, who earned his first professional start in this match. He played primarily as the target forward, and played like you would expect a 17 year old would in his first professional minutes. Prior to his goal, his best sequence came off of a Brian Ownby cross, in which he took a shot from the top of the six yard box and somehow hit the ball off of the post when he had beat the keeper and had a wide open goal. In the dying moments of the game he was able to get his goal, however: he blocked a shot in the box, collected it, and ran 80 yards to slot the ball coolly past the Wilmington keeper.

Out of all of the D.C. United players on loan, Andrew Dykstra had the best game. He made a number of good saves throughout the game that kept the Kickers in it. Conor Shanosky was a close second, stepping up and defending well as well as blocking a number of dangerous shots that weren't able to test Dykstra. Casey Townsend didn't play and Taylor Kemp only entered late, likely being saved for the more difficult game against the Charlotte Eagles on Saturday night.

My man of the match is William Yomby, with Luke Vercollone as a close second. Yomby has, throughout this short season, been able to deal with any ball that comes towards his center back position. While Conor Shanosky is a more technical player, Yomby is able to clear out anything that comes his way. As you all likely know, the Kickers are back in action tomorrow night against the Charlotte Eagles here in Richmond, Virginia. Hope to see you then!

After a week off, the Richmond Kickers are back in action with two games this weekend. First up? A road trip to visit the Wilmington Hammerheads.

After a week off, the Richmond Kickers are back in action with two games this weekend: the first tonight, against the Wilmington Hammerheads, and the second tomorrow night, against the Charlotte Eagles. For those of you unfamiliar with USL Pro, each team typically gets between 3 and 5 of these weekends per season, which are done to help reduce travel costs; to compensate, USL Pro teams are allowed 5 subs per game. The Hammerheads have struggled to start the season, earning three points from three games and with their only points coming against league bottom dweller Antigua Barracuda FC.

Either of these games could mark the professional debut of Michael Seaton, who is back from his stint with the Jamaican U-17 national team and who would mark the youngest player in Kickers history. And with two games back to back, it is more than possible that Seaton could see significant minutes. With D.C. United off this weekend, the Kickers will have their full complement of loanees.

Time: 7:30 pm

Venue: Legion Stadium, Wilmington, NC

Streaming: As always, all USL Pro games are streamed live, with tonight's game being no exception. Games are also available on demand.

Projected lineup: This is the time in the season where projections get a little iffy, as coach Leigh Cowlishaw must balance multiple games per weekend. However, I expect that Andrew Dykstra will start in goal, with Taylor Kemp, Conor Shanosky, William Yomby, and Alex Lee in front of him. Central midfield will be Mike Callahan and Luke Vercollone, with Brian Ownby and Jason Yeisley wide and with Joseph Ngwenya playing attacking midfield/second forward. Casey Townsend should start as the lead striker.

Prediction: With the Hammerheads at home, I don't think Richmond will get another 4-1 victory; however, I do think that they could pull out a 2-1 win on the road before coming back to the friendly confines of City Stadium.

What are you drinking? I'm currently moving into a new apartment, so who knows if I'll watch this game live or later. But expect a beer of some sort.

No matter who wins this week in Major League Soccer, we can be sure of something: there's no way D.C. United will lose in Week 10. (Because of a bye week.)

Scoreboard fires, more goals than we've seen in any other week this season, and some upset road wins defined Week 9 in MLS. What will Week 10 have in store for us? Our predictions and take on each of this week's nine match-ups are below, but first, let's check in on how our prognosticators did to close out the second month of the 2013 season.

Week 8 Scores (possible 9): Adam: 3 points | Chest: 2 pts | Benuski: 4 pts | Stephen: 3 pts

Total Scores (possible 77): Adam: 28 pts | Chest: 32 pts | Benuski: 25 pts | Stephen: 30 pts

Bring on Week 10!

Thurs. May 2, 10:30 pm: Portland Timbers vs. New England Revolution - Univision Deportes, MLS Live
Adam: POR. Chest: POR. Benuski: POR. Stephen: POR.

New England's defensive has been typically stout, but Porter Ball has the Timbers playing well. -Ben

Sat. May 4, 4 pm: San Jose Earthquakes vs. Montreal Impact - MLS Live
Adam: Draw. Chest: SJ. Benuski: Draw. Stephen: MTL.

Remember last year, when the Goonies would steal wins with late goals, and this preseason, when the conventional wisdom was that they couldn't keep it up this year? Well, the CW was half-right - the Quakes are still pulling out results with stoppage time goals. But those results have only been worth one point apiece this year, instead of the 3 they were getting last year. Which script will they keep to this week? -Adam

Sat. May 4, 4 pm: Philadelphia Union vs. Seattle Sounders - MLS Live
Adam: Draw. Chest: Draw. Benuski: PHI. Stephen: SEA.

All Philly predictions hinge on Hackworth sticking with the 4132 that is getting adequate results. I'm sure we're approaching the day where he explodes and begins ordering his players to play a new formation every 5 minutes. 271? 514? 3 goalkeepers? Everything's on the table. -Chest

Sat. May 4, 4 pm: Columbus Crew vs. New York Red Bulls - NBC Sports Network
Adam: NY. Chest: Draw. Benuski: NY. Stephen: Draw.

What's more likely? The scoreboard at Columbus Crew Stadium catches fire again or Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill play well two games in row? I'm guessing neither happens this week. -Stephen

Sat. May 4, 9 pm: Colorado Rapids vs. Toronto FC - MLS Live
Adam: Draw. Chest: COL. Benuski: Draw. Stephen: COL.

Know how I said the Quakes were good at scoring late goals to steal a draw? TFC are the exact opposite - nobody in the league is worse at keeping a one-goal lead late in matches. (Don't get me wrong; as a D.C. United fan - and I can't believe I'm saying this - I'd much rather ben in the Reds' shoes right now, if only because they have late leads to defend, poorly or not.) -Adam

Sat. May 4, 9 pm: Real Salt Lake vs. Vancouver Whitecaps - MLS Live
Adam: RSL. Chest: RSL. Benuski: RSL. Stephen: RSL.

The Whitecaps hauled themselves back against Dallas by being more direct and more attack-minded, but don't bank on seeing that idea carried over at Rio Tinto. -Chest

Sun. May 5, 5 pm: Sporting Kansas City vs. Chivas USA - UniMas, MLS Live
Adam: SKC. Chest: SKC. Benuski: SKC. Stephen: SKC.

I just jumped back off the Chivas bandwagon. Is there anyone left? -Stephen

Sun. May 5, 11 pm: LA Galaxy vs. Houston Dynamo - ESPN2
Adam: LAG. Chest: LAG. Benuski: LAG. Stephen: LAG.

Resurgent Galaxy hosting a Brad Davis-less Dynamo at the field where Houston just. keep. losing. But I promise you, we'll hear David Beckham's name from the likes of Twellman and Lalas more than any of the road team's players'. (Bonus from Chest: Hope this game has 6 red cards for the Dynamo.)
