Filibuster podcast episode 92: D.C. United versus Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids, Concacaf Champions League

On tap tonight: a Pretty Tony, Isley Brewing's Choosy Mother, New Belgium Summer Helles

The Filibuster gang is back once again, and we have a somewhat melancholy installment of the podcast. We start off with a brief tribute to Robin Williams before moving into D.C. United's loss at Real Salt Lake. We talk about the first goal in general, in particular Bobby Boswell's role in it, and then talk about the defense in this game overall. That's really all we had the stomach to talk about from this game. We then have to talk about Eddie Johnson's comments on Twitter after the game, in particular the comment that he's "not here to please your town."

After a break, we look to the future and talk about the Concacaf Champions League. We start by discussion the first match between Tauro FC and Waterhouse FC, which Waterhouse surprisingly won 2-1. We then talk about how Waterhouse and D.C. United match up, since we play them next Wednesday. Finally, we hit some of the highlights around the CCL so far.

Finally, we come to D.C. United's game this weekend (on Sunday, not Saturday), when they welcome the Colorado Rapids to RFK. We talk about their recent poor form, about Oscar Pareja and Pablo Mastroeni, how to gameplan for the Rapids, and then about backlines with either three or five defenders in them. Give it a listen!
