MLS Power Rankings, Week 30: The pack closes in

5 teams are within striking distance of the Supporters Shield leaders in this week's Power Rankings.

Week 30 saw several teams start to put some pressure on FC Dallas in the race for the Supporters Shield. While Dallas still enjoys a 5 point lead over the rest of the pack with 3 matches to play, New York City FC, New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC, LA Galaxy and the Colorado Rapids all have 48 points and are easily within striking distance. Colorado has 5 matches left while Toronto has 4, so they may be the teams that have the best chance of catching Dallas and taking the Shield.

On the other end, the race for the last couple spots in the East is fully lit, with our beloved D.C. United, Montreal Impact, Orlando City, and the New England Revolution realistically battling for 2 spots. In the West, the Portland Timbers and the Seattle Sounders are fighting for that last spot and maybe even catching Sporting Kansas City. No team has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, but the coming week of matches could possibly change that. Each team with a shot at the playoffs better remember Wedding Crashers Rule 76, otherwise they will not be playing November soccer.

As always, it's time to hear from you. Who's ranked just right? Who's too high or low? Which team stands the best chance of doing what they need to do to either win the Shield or sneak into the playoffs? Comments time...let's hear those takes!
