MLS Power Rankings, Week 26: Parity prevails

Everyone's bunched up real close in this week's Power Rankings.

Philadelphia is pumped up about their rise in the Rankings.

Week 26 was a chance for several teams to open up the gaps between themselves and the rest of the pack fighting for playoff spots. With 16 matches over the week, including 6 on Wednesday, many teams had two chances to gain or leave their competition in the dust. What did we learn? Parity seems to be undefeated. The playoff races are right where we all thought they would be at this time of year: incredibly tight. There are only 4 teams in the league that are sitting under 30 points, while now 8 teams have 40 points or more. That means that there's a lot of chance for teams to make some movement in the standings.

FC Dallas did enough to move back to the top spot in this week's Power Rankings, while the Philadelphia Union vault into the top 5. On the bottom, the usual suspects are there in the New England Revolution and the Chicago Fire. Our beloved D.C. United, fresh off a week where they drew away against the Montreal Impact and then put 6 on Chicago, are in the top 10, which further lets you know how parity has affected the Power Rankings.

Still, let's hear from you. Where do you think teams should be slotted? Who has the worst chance of making the playoffs? What do you expect to see from the Black-and-Red before the 10 day break for the international window? Sound off in the comments if you're feeling it!
