MLS Power Rankings, Week 18: Holiday weekend fireworks

There was lots of action over the holiday weekend, so let the Power Rankings celebrate!

Week 18 occurred on a weekend where Canada celebrated Canada Day and the United States celebrated Independence Day. Together, with the two holidays, MLS did not disappoint, providing lots of actions over the 3 day weekend. What really stood out were a few performances. First, Friday was the night of Bill Hamid, who was the main reason D.C. United was able to come out with a draw against Real Salt Lake. Next, Saturday belonged to New York City FC, who beat the New York Red Bulls for the first time ever. Finally, FC Dallas thoroughly skunked Orlando City Monday night to cap off the weekend.

Now, we're over the hump. We're in the 2nd half of the season now and each game is going to count. We'll see what kind of depth these teams have over the next few weeks as this July heat consumes us. Finally, with the summer transfer window open, what teams are going to make a move or two? Let's wait and see.

Now, let's hear your comments. Is Colorado (still #1) still at the top for you? Is Columbus really the bottom? Where does the Black-and-Red fit in all this? Let's hear your takes!
