The Western Conference leaders are starting to dominate in this week's Power Rankings.

May has seen several teams attempt to establish themselves as among the contenders for this year's Supporters Shield and the MLS Cup trophy. In Week 11, we finally had some teams emerge from the pack as the ones that each team must really bring their A game against when their name's next on the schedule. With these teams, they have some differences but there's really one common theme: the Western Conference is dominating this league through a third of the season. Seven of the top 10 teams in this week's Power Rankings hail from west of the Mississippi River, and most of the Eastern Conference squads can't do much but try to catch up.

There are a couple Eastern Conference teams that are staying in the hunt. They're doing it with grit, tenacious play and with no quit in their play. Still, they are looking up at several teams, namely the Colorado Rapids, the LA Galaxy, FC Dallas and the Vancouver Whitecaps. Still, there's plenty of season left and there's plenty of room in the East for one or several teams to make a run on the leaders.

We have a new number 1 this week, as the Rapids take the top spot. Our beloved D.C. United, fresh off the #beatemdown of the rival New York Red Bulls, move up a couple spots to #16. The Chicago Fire return to the basement. But, let's hear from you. Who's poised to make a long run? Who are the team(s) that you think are pretenders instead of contenders? You know the drill...hit those comments and spit that hot fire!
