MLS Power Rankings, Week 4: These are the breaks

An international fixture window meant most of MLS was on a break, but not the Power Rankings

While the world paused for the March FIFA international fixture window, allowing for World Cup Qualifying, African Cup of Nations Qualifying, an Olympic Playoff and friendlies, MLS proceeded with a light schedule. Week 4 saw just three matches take place, allowing 14 teams to rest those players that were not on international duty. The D.C. United-FC Dallas match was the only match to provide much excitement, and that was reserved for fans of the visitor. It's unclear why MLS decided to schedule just the three matches, but these 6 teams will now have a break somewhere down the road while others play catch up.

Because the majority of the league was idle, there is very little movement in this week's Power Rankings. Your Black-and-Red, who suffered the huge loss of the weekend, falls a few spots to #17, while FC Dallas and the Vancouver Whitecaps both rise in the rankings. This week doesn't mean much in the scheme of things, but for the teams that suffered defeats, it was an opportunity lost to gain some early points in the standings.

What did you think of the matches next week? With MLS set to resume tonight, which matches intrigue you? How do you think United will respond on their last road trip to the Pacific time zone? Hit up the comments and let's hear your thoughts!
