MLS Power Rankings, Week 31: Three teams surge

Teams who needed the wins got them in a loaded week of the Power Rankings.

Seattle has surged back from the brink to solidly above the playoff line.

Week 31 was full of action, with 14 matches throughout the week as teams sought to make up ground and get into one of those coveted playoff spots. Three teams dominated the week as the Seattle Sounders, Montreal Impact and our favorite D.C. United each won twice and made their playoff chances near certain. On the other side, Orlando City had a 1 point week when they desperately needed more and they squandered their chance to play in the postseason.

Every. match. counts. Teams who realize that now are too late to capitalize on it, while others now have a chance to secure their seeding in the playoffs, fight for that last spot, or hope that they have a chance to lift the Supporters Shield. With the international break here (only one match this weekend between the Houston Dynamo and the Colorado Rapids), teams will rest and prepare for the fury of the last two weeks of the season.

So, take a look at the rankings and sound off. Is the Black-and-Red surge warranted? Who squandered their opportunity the most to either make the playoffs or collect the Supporters Shield? What are you looking for the last couple weeks? You know why we're here...hit those comments and let us know.
