People who were excited at a weekend full of Major League Soccer matches, particularly after the plethora of matches over the past few weeks, probably logged onto their MLS Live accounts to find...very little. With only 5 MLS matches last weekend, the word of Week 15 was "idle." 10 teams sat the week out, leaving the other half of the league to try and provide entertainment for fans who were already getting it from the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2015 Copa America, CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers and UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers, among others.
I'll never understand this part of the schedule. There were opportunities for teams to play games. Only Vancouver's stadium is being used for another competition at this point (BMO Field is not being used for the Women's World Cup and the Montreal venue is Olympic Stadium), so it's kind of perplexing that half the teams in the league got to watch soccer while the other half played. As the summer months begin, the schedule is going to have more gaps like this, and it's something that the league will need to address to maintain consistency. You don't want to lose the casual fans by not having games on a weekend where they were probably itching to go to one.
As for the rankings, with half the league on vacation, it was only fair to rate the half that did play. The Black & Red, fresh off their loss to Orlando, drops from the top spot and replaced by Seattle, a team who has bounced in and out of the top spot multiple times this year. And, since Montreal let NYCFC walk all over them, they drop back down to the basement.
Now, it's your turn. What did you think of the lack of games this weekend? Is your new favorite word "idle?" Is D.C. still among the top 2 teams in MLS? Hit up the comments and let us know!

Probably should have drew, but the loss sends them falling from the top.
