MLS Power Rankings, Week 8: A new rave-green king

With Real Salt Lake collapsing against Vancouver, we have a new (rave-green) overlord.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

While last week was pretty static, this week sees a big shakeup at the top of the Black and Red United power rankings. I hate to move teams up when they lost, but just too many teams in the top ten lost of me to do anything differently. As always, let me know what your power rankings are in the comments!

Rank LW Team Points Games played Comment
1 2 Seattle Sounders 16 8 As much as I don't like it, the Sounders are on top of the league
2 1 Real Salt Lake 14 8 A late collapse against VWFC drops them off the top
3 6 Columbus Crew 12 7 Really shouldn't have moved up, but everyone else was bad too

5 4 Sporting Kansas City 11 7 Scuffling along more than last year
6 8 Toronto FC 9 6 Up here on reputation, but fixing for a big fall

12 15 New England Revolution 11 8 Are they finally figuring it out?
13 9 Houston Dynamo 8 8 Getting four goals scored on them is not even the regular season Dynamo I know
14 16 Chicago Fire 6 7 I have nothing to say about the Fire
15 10 Philadelphia Union 8 9 This is a team United needs to be better than to make the playoffs; so far, so good
16 18 San Jose Earthquakes 6 6 Still don't trust them
17 19 Montreal Impact 6 8 A win moves them off the bottom, for now
18 11 Chivas USA 6 8 The bottom finally fell out on them
