MLS Power Rankings, Week 7: Top 4 stay the same

Real Salt Lake remains the top team in the league, and Montreal Impact remain the worst.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

There were plenty of draws this week in Major League Soccer, and so many of the positions on our power rankings stayed the same. However, the bottom has given out on one team's ranking, and two other continue to bounce along on the bottom of the barrel. Let's find out who is where!

Rank LW Team Points Games played Comment
1 1 Real Salt Lake 13 7 Give Garth Lagerway all of the money, Mr. Thohir. All of the money.
2 2 Seattle Sounders 13 7 A win against Chivas counts more this year than in years past, and keeps them in the second spot
3 3 FC Dallas 16 7 Dallas' offense scares me for this weekend's game
4 4 Sporting Kansas City 11 6 Absolute demolition of Montreal would usually bounce them up, but this year's Montreal doesn't warrant that
5 5 Colorado Rapids 11 6 Still, no one is talking about the Rapids
6 6 Columbus Crew 11 6 A late draw keeps them from falling, even if they had some help
7 8 LA Galaxy 8 5 Had an opportunity to move up, but a tie again Vancouver won't allow that
8 7 Toronto FC 9 6 Not as hot as they were out of the gate; that defense is questionable
9 9 Houston Dynamo 7 6 I see you, Houston, trying to lull us all into a false sense of security
10 10 Philadelphia Union 8 8 Yawn
11 11 Chivas USA 6 7 I really want Chivas to be better than they actually are
12 13 D.C. United 8 6 4 game unbeaten streak!
13 17 New York Red Bulls 7 7 Go away Red Bulls
14 14 Vancouver Whitecaps 9 7 I refuse to believe in Vancouver; you can't make me
15 15 New England Revolution 8 7 Revs continue to struggle along...
16 16 Chicago Fire 6 7 ...as do the Fiyur
17 12 Portland Timbers 4 7 The bottom finally gave out on their ranking
18 18 San Jose Earthquakes 3 5 Just not good
