The leader this round was No More FCs SC, who scored 120 points using a bunch of question marks as players [ed. note: this is Jason, No More FCs SC is my team, and I think it’s important to make sure everyone knows that I scored these points]. Make Amarikwa Great Again has taken over the top spot overall, with a 16-point lead.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
Spencer Richey (CIN, $5.3) posted a clean sheet and 9 points, leading the position. Behind him, Zack Steffen (CLB, $7.2) had a clean sheet of his own and 8 points, while DCU’s Bill Hamid ($7.4) did the same for 7 points.
Defenders
Gaston Sauro (CLB, $6.0) scored a goal and posted a clean sheet for 15 points, leading all defenders. Meanwhile, the Cincinnati pair of Kendall Waston ($6.2) and Mathieu Deplagne ($5.8) each clocked in with a goal, a clean sheet, and 14 points. Leonardo Jara ($7.5) led the United back line with 13 points, followed by Frederic Brillant ($7.0) with 9, and the pair of Steven Birnbaum ($7.5) and Joseph Mora ($6.5) with 8 each.
Midfielders
United’s Junior Moreno ($7.5) contributed two assists on the way to 14 points, leading the position. Behind him, the pair of Ignacio Piatti (MTL, $11.5), with two goals, and Daniel Royer (NYR, $8.0), with a goal and an assist, scored 13 points each. The remainder of D.C.’s midfield included Lucas Rodriguez ($9.5) with 9 points, Luciano Acosta ($11.4) with 7, Ulises Segura ($5.8) with 6, Paul Arriola ($9.7) with 5, Russell Canouse ($7.8) with 3, and both Chris Durkin ($5.3) and Zoltan Stieber ($6.7) with 1.
Forwards
Wayne Rooney ($11.0) added an assist to his hat trick for 23 points, leading all forwards and all players, while Houston’s Alberth Elis ($9.2) scored 19 points on the strength of a goal and two assists. Carlos Vela (LA, $11.8) rounded out the top three with two goals and 13 points. No other DCU forwards scored.
Looking Ahead
So many teams are on bye that it’s easier to list the teams who are playing. Those teams are: Dallas, Colorado, the Red Bulls, Orlando, Philadelphia, Columbus, Los Angeles, RSL, New England, and Cincinnati. I guess go with Luis Robles (NYR, $5.9) in goal at home against Orlando, but do so at your own risk. Walker Zimmerman (LA, $7.3) is your man in defense at home against RSL, and I like Carles Gil (NE, $9.7) in midfield at home against Cincinnati. Go with Adama Diomande (LA, $9.8) at forward.
