Fantasy Focus: Morales and Values

More double game weeks, more big scores

With a score of 141 points, #Gio'd led the double game week. Diego Valeri (POR, $10.6) led the team with an armband-aided 32 points on the strength of a goal. Backing him up was Pedro Morales (VAN, $11.1), who scored a goal and added two assists for 21 points, followed up by Sebastian Giovinco (TOR, $12.7), who scored 20 points in one game with two goals and an assist. !BL4CKnRED-2014Champ still leads overall by 6 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

David Ousted (VAN, $6.2) led the keepers with 13 points and a saved penalty. Chris Seitz (DAL, $4.8) earned a clean sheet on the way to 12 points, while Zac MacMath (COL, $5.2) scored 11 points with a clean sheet of his own. DCU's Travis Worra ($4.0) scored 8 points in United's 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls. Did you know that DCU beat the Red Bulls? DCU beat the Red Bulls.

Defenders

Dallas defender Walker Zimmerman ($6.3) easily led all defenders with 18 points on a goal and a clean sheet. Trailing him was Keegan Rosenberry (PHI, $5.8) with a goal and 13 points; and the pair of Mekeil Williams (COL, $7.2) and Zach Loyd (DAL, $7.6), who each scored 12 points -- each earned a clean sheet. For United, Bobby Boswell ($8.1) led the backline with 8 points; followed by the trio of Steve Birnbaum ($7.7), Sean Franklin ($8.1), and Taylor Kemp ($7.8), who scored 7 points in D.C.'s 2-0 shutout of the Metros. Hey, check out that score.

Midfielders

Pedro Morales's 21 points led all midfielders and all scorers. Mauro Diaz (DAL, $10.9) tallied a goal and an assist for 19 points, while Diego Valeri's 16 points were matched by Alberto Quintero (SJ, $6.8), who scored two goals with an assist. The United midfield was led by Patrick Nyarko's ($7.3) 13 points, followed by Lamar Neagle ($7.8) and Marcelo Sarvas ($7.1) with 9 points, Nick DeLeon ($6.4) with 2 points, and both Julian Buescher ($5.5) and Jared Jeffrey ($5.5) with 1 point.

Forwards

Sebastian Giovinco's 20 points were matched by Kekuta Manneh (VAN, $8.5), who paired 2 goals with 2 assists. Alvaro Saborio (DCU, $7.8) notched a goal and an assist for 12 points, which was matched by Blas Perez (VAN, $7.1), who scored two goals. The other United forwards were Luciano Acosta ($8.7), who scored 2 points, and Fabian Espindola ($10.1), who scored 1.

Looking Ahead

Four teams play twice -- Chicago, NYC, the Red Bulls (who are recovering from their 2-0 loss to DCU), and Toronto. Everyone else plays once. Of those, Clint Irwin (TOR, $5.6) is your man in goal, with home games vs. NYC and CLB, and Ronald Matarrita (NYC, $7.8), with games @ TOR and vs. the Red Bulls. In midfield, Tommy McNamara (NYC, $7.4) is a great budget play, and Sebastian Giovinco is a must at forward.
