This week's leader over all of fantasy scored 104 points, and our leader this round was not far off of that with 92. ASA Charge were led by captain Axel Sjoberg (COL, $4.7,) whose 18 points came over two matches. Behind him were the duo of Gabriel Torres (COL, $7.5) and Obafemi Martins (SEA, $11.6), who each scored two goals and 14 points, though Martins also had an assist. Poor Man's Porales still leads overall, though the lead shrunk to 63 points.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
Tim Melia (SKC, $4.7) led all goalkeepers with 10 points on a clean sheet in his first action this season. Incidentally, that's 12 points more than he scored all of last year. Clint Irwin (COL, $5.1) earned 9 points over two games, and D.C.'s Bill Hamid ($6.4) earned a clean sheet and 8 points.
Defenders
DCU's Sean Franklin ($8.2) stomped all over Columbus with 15 points on a goal and a clean sheet, leading all defenders and all scorers. Colorado's Michael Harrington ($5.4) and Kansas City's Matt Besler ($9.1) each scored 10 points, Harrington with an assist, Besler with a clean sheet. The rest of the DCU defenders consisted of Bobby Boswell ($9.3) and Kofi Opare ($5.1) with 8 points, and Chris Korb ($5.6) with 7.
Midfielders
Fabian Castillo (DAL, $10.2) scored a goal and assisted on two more for 14 points and the positional lead. Castillo's teammate, Mauro Diaz ($9.3) duplicated Castillo's feat for 13 points of his own. Sacha Kljestan (NYR, $9.1) and Clint Dempsey (SEA, $11.6) each scored a goal and 12 points, though Dempsey added an assist. United's midfield featured Chris Rolfe ($8.9) with 7 points; Davy Arnaud ($6.6) with 4; Nick DeLeon ($6.4), Perry Kitchen ($7.6), and Chris Pontius ($7.0) with 3 points; and Luis Silva ($8.5), Michael Farfan ($6.4), and Miguel Aguilar ($5.0) with 1. #freeAguilar
Forwards
Gabriel Torres and Obafemi Martins led the forwards with their 14 points. D.C.'s Fabian Espindola ($10.2) and David Teixira (DAL, $7.6) each scored 10 points on a goal and an assist. No other DCU forwards scored.
Looking Ahead
Houston, LA, RSL, and San Jose all play twice, while everyone else plays once. Games start tonight, Tuesday, May 5th. It's a good time to load up on two-gamers. I like Tyler Deric (HOU, $4.9) in goal at vs. San Jose and @Toronto. In defense, get Jamison Olave (RSL, $8.1) in, vs. LA and @ Chicago. Stefan Ishizaki (LA, $8.0) is a good midfield option @RSL and @Dallas. Among forwards, eschew the two-game guys and grab Gabriel Torres, who has 4 goals in 5 games.
Everyone's Adding: G - Tyler Deric (+194), D - Omar Gonzalez (LA, $9.5, +231), M - Giles Barnes (HOU, $9.4, +370), F - Chris Wondolowski (SJ, $10.8, +233)
Everyone's Dropping: G - Chris Seitz (DAL, $4.9, -325), D - Steven Beitashour (VAN, $7.5, -166), M - Lloyd Sam (NYR, $8.9, -360), F - Bradley Wright-Phillips (NYR, $11.1, -295)
