While we were all out stocking up on two-game players this week, Javier Morales was making us all look silly. Before we get to that, we recognize this week's high scorer, Magic City FC, with 107 points. Brad Davis (HOU, $10.8) wore the armband and assisted two goals in two games on the way to 34 points. Bradley Wright-Phillips (NY, $7.9) scored a hat trick and did not much else on the way to 18 points, and Tally Hall (HOU, $6.0) earned a clean sheet on the way to 12 points over two games. In It Toux Wynne It still leads overall.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
Jon Busch (SJ, $5.4) scored 15 points to lead the position, tallying a clean sheet and an assist along the way. Clint Irwin's (COL, $5.0) 13 points came with the help of a clean sheet, and Tally Hall's 12 points round out the top three. For United, Bill Hamid ($4.7) scored 9 points.
Defenders
FC Dallas' Michel ($7.9) scored two goals over two games on the way to 19 points and the positional lead. Victor Bernardez (SJ, $8.6) earned a clean sheet in two games for 11 points, and the trio of Shane O'Neill (COL, $6.5), David Horst (HOU, $6.3) and Chris Tierney (NE, $6.9) tied for third with 10 points, each earning a clean sheet over two games. For D.C., Bobby Boswell ($8.3) and Christian Fernandez ($6.6) tied for the lead with 8 points, while Jeff Parke ($6.7) followed closely with 7, and Chris Korb ($5.8) earned 5.
Midfielders
Javier Morales (RSL, $10.6) scored a hat trick, added an assist, and tallied 6 attacking bonus points for 26 points and the positional and overall lead. Brad Davis's 17 points were good for second, and Diego Fagundez (NE, $7.4) scored 2 goals for 14 points. United midfielders were led by Chris Rolfe ($6.9) with 8 points, and Perry Kitchen ($6.3) scored 4 points, Davy Arnaud ($6.8) and Lewis Neal ($5.3) scored 3 points, and Luis Silva ($7.1) and Alex Caskey ($5.7) scored 1 point.
Forwards
Chicago's Harry Shipp ($6.2) scored a hat trick and added an assist for 22 points. Bradley Wright-Phillips's 18 points were good for 2nd, and Obafemi Martins (SEA, $9.9) tallied two assists and 13 points. For DCU, Eddie Johnson ($9.4) and Fabian Espindola ($8.6) scored 2 points, and Conor Doyle ($6.3) scored 1.
Looking Ahead
Kansas City and Philadelphia play twice this week, and Vancouver's on bye. Players are reporting for World Cup camps, so mind your players' availability. Eric Kronberg (SKC, $5.3, 43 points) is a great goalkeeping option vs. PHI and @CHI. At the back, DC's Bobby Boswell is tied for the scoring lead among defenders, so use him vs. MTL. In the midfield, after to swap Clint Dempsey for Javi Morales, Ned Grabavoy (RSL, $7.2, 44 points) is going to have a lot more responsibility with Kyle Beckerman away, and he plays vs. COL. At forward, Erick Torres (CHV, $8.6, 66 points) may seem like the obvious choice with 8 goals in 10 games, but he's @SJ, who will be without starting defenders Bernardez and Clarence Goodson.
Everyone's Adding: G - Kronberg (+1518), D - Michel (+1275), M - Benny Feilhaber (SKC, $8.3, 42 points, +1722), F - Wright Phillips (+1763)
Everyone's Dropping: G - Hall (-681), D - Dylan Remick (SEA, $4.3, 26 points, -1564), M - Clint Dempsey (SEA, $10.6, 70 points, -2606), F - Federico Higuain (CLB, $10.6, 55 points, -1571)
