United's newest signing has played for numerous clubs in Argentina and elsewhere.

With Luis Silva looking like he might miss some time with an injury, and Eddie Johnson allegedly released from his contract, D.C. United announced the signing of Facundo Coria on Monday, an Argentinian forward and midfielder who was out of contract before signing to play in the nation's capital.

While he has inked a contract with United, he will not be eligible to play for the Black-and-Red until they receive his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.

"We are pleased to welcome Facundo to D.C. United," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper said in a press release. "He is a talented player who is in the prime of his career, and he will provide us with another quality attacking option."

Coria has had a journey of a career thus far, spending time with 8 different clubs.  The 27 year old made a name for himself while away on loan from Velez Sarsfield, at CS Emelec and Argentinos Juniors. While with Argentinos Juniors, Coria scored the goal that won the side the Clasura Championship, on the final day of the season. He then went to Villarreal in Spain - who paid an estimated 785,000 euro transfer fee for his rights - before joining Pachuca on loan for half a season before Villarreal shipped him back to Argentina (this time with Estudiantes). After a season with Juan Sebastian Veron's former club, he moved on to Chilean powerhouse Colo Colo for the 2012-2013 season.

He was last with Argentinos Juniors in 2013-2014, before becoming a free agent at the end of his contract. He had a short trial stint with the Philadelphia Union in early April that ended without a contract.

The following appears to be a sizzle reel of Coria, with the highlights coming from his year long loan with Club Sport Emelec from Ecuador in 2009.

What do you think of the signing? Is the video enough to sway you one way or another? Does United still need more help up top with Silva struggling with injuries?
