D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew GIFs

We look at animated internet files which caught our fancy.

MLS: Columbus Crew SC at D.C. United Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Well if you’re going to start your first win streak of the season, might wait until games 30 and 31 of the regular season to do it, right? Well, that’s what D.C. United did, as they started slowly but finished off Columbus Crew SC in a 3-0 win on an overcast weeknight at RFK.

With that, let’s look at some GIFs, shall we? The first (and only) one from the first half was Patrick Mullins’ attempt that Steve Clark saved. A really nice ball from Lloyd Sam on this ball (following an underrated one from Steve Birnbaum), and does Michael Parkhurst not believe in jumping, or does he not have those calf-strengthening sneakers from back in the day?

Next up is the first goal from Sam, with an assist from Lucho. Note the run from Patrick Mullins behind the play. Corey Ashe stays open just enough for Sam to get a shot on, and some good kismet for a goal in his second consecutive game.

Moving ahead to goal 2. Nice from Patrick Nyarko to collect, and double nice from Julian Buescher to Lamar Neagle for all three players to get onto the scoresheet for the second straight game.

Finally is the last goal from Alvaro Saborio. The screwed up clearance helps a LOT here, but I’m going to blindly ignore that and just recognize that Bill Hamid started the play (note the nod) to Neagle, and Sabo finished it.

So what did you like from the night?
