Help B&RU raise money for children's cancer research!

Adam is shaving his head! For charity!

You may remember last year around this time, D.C. United players Bobby Boswell, Perry Kitchen and Kofi Opare, along with coach Ben Olsensacrificed their hair to the St. Baldrick's Foundation for the cause of curing childhood cancer. I was there, and I shot the video at the top of this post. This year, I want to do more than document things. I'm jumping in.

St. Baldrick's is a charity that helps fund some of the most promising research into cures for childhood cancers and helping survivors live long, healthy lives. Last year, mostly through donations raised around these crazy head-shaving events, the group raised more than $36 million! This year I'm going to do my small part, and I hope you'll help me out in that.

Adam with hair

On March 13, I will be at Boundary Stone Public House in Bloomingdale, and I will put myself at the mercy of the hair clippers. My goal is to raise $1,000 toward Team Boundary Stone's $25,000 goal. And I really like my hair - I mean, look at that picture! Please help me reach my goal so that I'm not both bald and a failure.

Just in case the warm fuzzies from helping an outstanding cause, my personal gratitude, or the tax deduction isn't enough for you to break out the credit card, there will also be a post on B&RU after the event, shouting out anybody who gives under their own name, complete with a South American- or European-style soccer nickname. Now how can you budding Keanos and Atomic Ants and Las Joyas and Hulks pass that up? If I reach my goal, I'll also come up with some bonus thing TBD that will probably involve humiliating me in hilarious fashion.

I'll be forever grateful to those of you who go over to my fundraising page and donate.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled B&RU.
