D.C. United 1-1 Sporting Kansas City: The GIFs

D.C. United was looking to take over sole possession of the Eastern Conference Saturday night by defeating the newly Western Conference-relocated Sporting Kansas City. While the Sporks were not the Sporks of two or three years ago, they provided enough of a challenge for the Black and Red that the result was a 1-1 draw between the two clubs. We show you moments of curiosity, starting with the cross that Jacob Peterson volleyed but hit the bar. Some sleeping on defense here.

The Sporting KC goal is next, and you can see how quick Dom Dwyer left Kofi Opare to fire that shot. Nifty. Also, come on, Sean Franklin.

Moving into the second half, and Chris Rolfe going all Matrix for a second, only for the end to be symbolic of the team's efforts in the last third.

Lastly, this one where Rolfe does something to his ankle. In lieu of the "open, truthful" injury updates that Steve Goff mentioned yesterday, one to keep an eye on.
