In wasn't without its fun and drama, but at the end, D.C. United managed to gut out a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution that gave one team happy feelings before their two-leg series starting Sunday, while another wondered what happened.
So let's look at some GIFs, shall we? The first being Juan Agudelo's golazo over Bill Hamid, which you really can't get mad at:
Next is several minutes later, and Kelyn Rowe finding himself in great position, but Hamid saves it. Stick around for Rowe's expression afterward:
Further still, is the header that Chris Pontius put home for the tying goal, and whatever it was Andrew Farrell did here:
Next is (we think) the injury Pontius suffered in the second half. He pulls up a little, looks over to the bench, and within three minutes, he's off for Alvaro Saborio:
Then the eventual game-winner from Chris Rolfe. Note Nick DeLeon running to that aerial, and waiting for Fabian Espindola to come around, for a nice back heel:
And one last one, being Hamid's save on Jermaine Jones. I'll choose to think that this was the reason for his tantrum, and not the handball call on Sean Franklin:
SUPER IMPORTANT UPDATE: Isolation of Rowe's face after the save:
