There are two top tier battles today involving D.C. United players, with the Richmond Kickers taking on Orlando City SC this evening just before United themselves take on Sporting Kansas City. A win for the Kickers today would vault them into a tie with Orlando City for top of the league, while a loss would leave them vulnerable to dropping into third place behind Sacramento Republic. It is also the Kickers' last regular season home game of the year, so give it a watch as the prelude to United's game later tonight.
Kickoff time: 7:00 PM EDT
Venue: City Stadium, Richmond, Va.
Streaming: As always, you can find all USL PRO games on YouTube. If you have a Roku or a Chromecast (or possibly other devices), you should be able to watch the game on your TV.
D.C. United players in attendance: Conor Shanosky and Kyle Porter, having played midweek in the Concacaf Champions League, have been shipped to Richmond for this game as well. However, having been on United's bench lately, I do not imagine they will be that tired and I figure that both will start.
Richmond Kickers starting XI: Ryan Taylor will start in goal, with Alex Lee, William Yomby, Conor Shanosky, and Sascha Goerres in front of him. Luke Vercollone and Samuel Asante will be the defensive midfield, with Kyle Porter, George Davis IV, and Shay Spitz in attacking midfield. Matthew Delicate will start up top, one goal behind OCSC's Kevin Molino for the league goal-scoring lead.
Prediction: The Richmond Kickers beat OCSC twice last year, so I don't see why they couldn't do it again. 2-1 to the home team.
What are you drinking? I won't be drinking in the press box, but I will be drinking something from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery afterwards.
As always, this is your place for all your pre-game, in-game, and post-game chat.
